Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (10BC – 54 AD) became emperor of Rome in his 50th year. Bringing some stability to the Roman Empire between the disastrous reigns of his notorious predecessor, the emperor Caligula, and his even more notorious successor, Nero, Claudius reigned AD 41-54.
